Zombies

Zombies is a board game I wrote long ago (when I was 14 or 15) in QBasic. It is mostly a relic - my first finished computer game. The code (source code is included in the .zip) is awful, yet the game is bug-free as far as I know. The rules are rather obscure, I'll give a short summary.

The game is played by two human players (sorry, AI was way over my head at that time). Players take turns, every turn they can control their pieces on the board and click the arrow at the side to end their turn. Every turn a player gets a new piece, shown as an icon in their 'home' corner. This can be a new guy (shown as a face) or some other thingy. A new guy is placed on the board by clicking on it. Every turn every guy can move one square, this is done by clicking on the guy and then on the target square. Other upgrades include swords and helmets, which can be put onto your guys, zombies, which can be used to resurrect a dead guy, grenades and exorcisms (arcane looking symbol) which kill respectively normal guys and zombies, and berserks (face with bloody mouth), which can be stored (as shown on the right of the screen) and applied to a guy with the right mouse button to make it stronger.

The objective of the game is to occupy the opponent's home square, the square where his or her new guys are deployed. Guys and zombies can fight (by moving into each other). The outcome of a fight depends on the upgrades (swords, helmets, beserks) the guys are carrying and on whether they are zombies (zombies are stronger). Basically, helmets make guys harder to kill, swords make guys kill harder and a berserk does both (more of the second). Whenever a player has less than two guys in the game, he loses a point (also shown on the right of the screen). When out of points, you lose. You can prevent your opponent from deploying new guys by having a guy in his or her home square. ... I think that about sums it up.
